Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis ("RA") is a systemic disease that is caused by inflammation in the lining of the joints.  The cells in the joint lining (called the "synovium") release enzymes that break down bone and cartilage. RA affects women twice as much as men and typically occurs between the ages of 30 and 50.  The drug therapies that are offered for this disorder and inventoried by Medex BioCare include Enbrel, Kineret, Remicade, Humira, and other therapies as they become available.
