Growth Hormone Deficiency
Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) causes a delay or absence of the growth of skeletal bones that is inappropriate to the age of a person. HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is a protein that is produced by the pituitary gland in the brain and is vital for normal growth. For a person that cannot produce a sufficient quantity of HGH, treatment may be available. Patients that are HGH deficient may be treated by a daily injection or 3-4 injections per week. Synthetic products such as Humatrope, Nutropin, Protropin, Saizen, and Serostim are the current therapies that are offered and available through Medex BioCare.
