Hepatitis

The Hepatitis C virus ("HCV") attacks the liver and proliferates long-term renal illness such as infections, liver
cancer, and cirrhosis (liver damage and scarring of the liver).

  • Fatigue

  • Sore muscles
     
  • Abdominal discomfort
     
  • Nausea
     
  • Dark urine or light colored (clay in color) stools
     
  • Loss of appetite, weight loss
     
  • Yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes

Hepatitis C ("HCV") is the most common blood-borne virus in the United States and it is estimated that 3.9 million Americans have HCV and it is the leading cause of liver transplantation in the United States.

There are several types of Hepatitis viruses such as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis D, and Hepatitis E, many of which are preventable through routine vaccinations. However, there is currently no vaccination for Hepatitis C.
